We have been working together in creative ways to directly and positively impact families in Afghanistan through collaboration with friends, students and volunteers around the world. We aim to provide the means for a small group of Afghan women to learn to embroider and tailor fashion wear, accessories, and home decor. By selling the embroidered crafts abroad Ejaad provides a regular income that women and girls have never had. The main goal is to empower Ejaad artisans with an opportunity and ultimately with training and a higher education. The Meaning of Ejaad ایجاد The name of our project means creativity or innovation in the national language of Afghanistan, Dari. |

Recently Completed Project
Kabul Ejaad is a project where a group of women in Kabul can earn an income through sewing and embroidery. Our artisans need a place where they can safely gather and sew and learn from each other and improve their education. We are currently creating opportunities at our learning center in Kabul. We now have implemented sewing workshops, English, Pashto, and Dari language lessons. AWF Architects Without Frontiers has been our design partner! TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH DESIGN: AWF mission: improve the built environment of communities in need. We facilitate the design and construction of health, education and community projects primarily in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. We believe that architecture can be an ethical tool for social change. Our vision: is to transform lives through design. https://www.architectswithoutfrontiers.com.au/ |
Ejaad Afghanistan is the base for our Non profit collaboration. Our office is a newly built learning center used by 43 women. 100% of the proceeds from selling their beautiful Embroidery goes directly to the artisans. Ejaad Afghanistan is a base for education, humanitarian aid and medical support. Please join in and help us. |
Among these 43 women, there are talented seamstresses and embroiderers and through their expertise, they will teach the others.
Our initial crowdfunding in 2017 supplied the women with sewing machines, fabric and sewing tools. With this they were able to successfully produce and sell their first line of artistically crafted purses and bags. Since then we are collaborating to sell their embroideries internationally. Ejaad has an Afghan woman coordinator who speaks some English and we are working to expand the sewing, embroidery and education opportunities safely. We want to help our artisans reach some important educational goals as well, and share their traditional talents with the world. The Impact from Embroidery sales is huge. This is especially felt in the rural area where even one or two dollars makes a difference. |
